지난주 일론 머스크가 '테라팹(Terafab)' 계획을 공개했다. 완공 시 연간 1테라와트(TW) 규모 AI 칩 생산이 가능한 시설로, 현재 전 세계 단일 부지 신규 가용 컴퓨팅의 약 50배다.
시설은 최대 1억 평방피트(약 928만㎡, 뉴욕 센트럴파크의 약 3배) 규모로 확장 가능하며, 풀가동 시 약 10GW의 전력(대형 원자로 약 10기 분량)이 필요하다.
Last week, Elon Musk unveiled his plans for a “Terafab”—a facility capable of producing 1 terawatt (TW) of AI chips per year when complete and ~50x larger than current global available new compute in a single site. The facility could scale to ~100M square feet, ~3x the size of New York’s Central Park, and require ~10GW (Gigawatts) of power, equivalent to ~10 large nuclear reactors, at scale.
