시장은 '바늘처럼 뾰족한 천장(needle top)'을 만들지 않는다. 역사적으로 한 번도 그런 적이 없다.
시장이 정말 천장을 만들려면 해야 할 일이 많이 남았다. 신고가 이후 가장 쉬운 길은 계속 위였다. 새로운 천장이 만들어지려면 몇 달은 더 걸리거나, 선거 시즌의 열기 속까지 갈 수 있다. 그렇다고 변동성을 무시하는 건 아니다 — 선거 시즌과 지정학 요인을 감안하면 변동성은 충분히 상상이 간다.
Markets do not make needle tops. They never have. If the market is going to put in a top, there is a lot of work to be done. The easiest path has been up since the new highs. It may take a few months or into the heat of election season for stocks to get that new top in.
